Secretariat

The role of the Libraries and Information East Midlands Secretariat is to support Regional Council and member organisations.

The Secretariat is run by the Regional Librarian, Lynn Hodgkins.

The Regional Librarian

• acts as a contact for members of the region and its groups, offering information and advice as appropriate;
• is an advocate for the LIS domain in the East Midlands with regional and national bodies;
• is the key contact for MLA East Midlands on all LIS issues.

The Regional Librarian submits a quarterly report to Regional Council giving a flavour of the range of activities the organisation is currently involved in.  The most recent Secretariat reports are available as Word documents

Lynn is a member of the Circle of Officers of National and Regional Library Systems (CONARLS) and The Combined Regions Management Board, the Inspire national Steering Group, and is the East Midlands representative on Reading Partners.   She represents East Midlands SCL on the national MLA Evidence and Advocacy Network.

Lynn maintains close links with the East Midlands Branch of CILIP and provides support to the region's Solo Professional Network.
