Projects: Inspire Electronic Resources for Walk-in Users Inspire logo

Walk-in Users

A number of academic institutions are now offering walk-in access to electronic resources. Both the JISC and Eduserv Chest have provided information on which online resources offer 'Walk in User' access. JISC has also produced a list of other online resources and created an easy to understand chart to demonstrate what access is and is not allowed.

More information about these can be found at:

www.jisccollections.ac.uk/model_licence/coll_walk_in_user_access.aspx

www.jisc-collections.ac.uk/catalogue/aau_initiative.aspx.

The Eduserv Chest information is available on www.eduserv.org.uk/chest/agreements/software/walk_in_users

HE Access to e-resources in Visited Institutions (HAERVI)

The HAERVI project was promoted by SCONUL and UCISA to improve the service offered by HE institutions to visiting students and researchers from other HEIs who wish to access licensed e-resources.

The Project has produced the Best Practice Guide to HE Access to e-resources in Visited Institutions which is available online at www.ucisa.ac.uk/haervi/haervi.aspx
