The 2010 - 2011 'Motivate, Learn, Lead' cross-sectoral leadership programme for library staff working in the East Midlands is now open for nominations.
Previous programmes have been highly successful and LIEM has been awarded the CILIP Seal of Recognition for this innovative programme. Feedback from past participants and their managers has been consistently positive.
Each previous Motivate, Learn, Lead programme has included library staff working in public, higher and further education, health and special libraries in the East Midlands and the cross-sectoral mix of participants is a very real strength of this programme.
The next programme will begin with a half day session on Monday 6th December 2010 and there will be a further four one-day modules between January and April 2011. A half day review session will also be held in autumn 2011.
The introductory half day session will be held at the Leicester Creative Business Depot and the four full day modules will be held at the Nottinghamshire Archives Office on Castle Meadow Road, Nottingham. The Archives Office is within very easy reach of a number of public car parks and the bus, tram and railway stations.
Twelve places are available on the Motivate, Learn, Lead programme and an application form can be found below. The cost of the programme is heavily subsidised by Libraries and Information East Midlands and the fee per participant will remain at 2009/10 prices - £250 for LIEM member organisations and £350 for non-member organisations. Refreshments, lunch and all course materials are included.
The closing date for nominations is Friday 1st October – all applications will be acknowledged on receipt and places will be confirmed by Friday 22nd October. Kath Owen or Lynn Hodgkins would be pleased to answer questions about the programme – contact details for both are provided in the course programme below.
